Photo Caption: here’s the story of yesterday. The weather was beautiful, in the 60’s, with a little wind. I was by myself and wanted to ride… really had an Indian Air on my mind that needed to come out. I remembered from my last crash I can’t start my session out with what’s on my mind, so I made myself just
flow around for a while and did a bunch of regular no footers until I
couldn’t stop thinking about stretching an Indian Air. My cranks were a little loose, but they seemed to stay in the right position doing no footers
so I decided not to take a break and tighten them. My legs were getting a bit week because I hadn’t ridding in 4 weeks, so I thought maybe I chill if
I can’t get a height that felt comfortable. But then I thought I have a roll in. So I rolled in and was thinking maybe I still just stretch a cancan and not worry about an Indian Air until I’m more on my game. But then I hit the first lip and I was soaring already, then the second felt comfortable height and the next thing I knew I was doing an Indian Air… I
think my cranks flipped and I missed my pedal on reentry. I ran over my leg and I think my back peg ripped my leg open. I had just thought it was a good pedal bite and was going to ride back up to the top and ride it out
until I pulled my pant leg up and saw this is a session ender. So I had to walk up the hill with my leg like this, which is about an acre (43,000 square feet) and went into my room got an ace bandage to hold my leg together so I didn’t bleed all over my car. I text Jaci to let her know I was on my way to the ER with a photo. I was getting a little woozy, but
told her I’d be fine. I got to the hospital and they got me right in. I was brought to the room that DMC and I were in when we collided but this time I’m the one ripped open. the same doctor came in, we had a little
chuckle and he went to work. I looked at the time and it was 4:30p. haha. I was out of there within a hour and picked up my family and we went out to
eat like nothing happened. Just a day in the life… but I also got lucky on this one. I missed the artery, didn’t tear the calf muscle and no tendon damage. Just fatty tissue. I’ll be back in a week. 43
