This is my brother Travis. @travismhoffman He is a badass. He”s even tougher than he looks in this photo. He and his wife run a boxing gym and are both fighters. @westernavenueboxinggym He is a big part of how I grew up being able to take a beating. He is obnoxious, offensive and could give a shit what you think about it. Today he turns 50! This is a party I’m glad is quarantined. It could get messy. None of us thought there was any way in hell you’d make it to 50. Happy Birthday brother. I hope you get to punch something today.
So a few years ago an old art friend of mine informed me that April 19th is bicycle day, because Albert Hoffman created LSD on this day in 1943. He asked if he could use my no handed 900 for the blotterart And there’s 900 pieces In a blot sheet… hoffman/43/900/blotterart/bicycleday RANDOM TRIVIA more of the Story below. HAPPY BICYCLE DAY • @mothman333 Super rad and rare vanity blotterart piece created to celebrate April 19th 1943 “bicycle day” the day a guy Albert Hoffman, a chemist for Sandoz Laboratories, first created and experienced LSD while riding his bicycle. The cool thing about this piece is its a pic of Mat Hoffman, another person synonymous with bicycles, pulling off a 900 of which the vanity blotterart is a 9X. Signed by Mat aka @condorbmx and numbered 43/900 (not perfed) #blotterart #alberthoffman #bicycleday #artforthepeople
Thanks for the memories THORNE• @rickthorne SWIPE 🏻 The OG #sprocketjockeys team was @condorbmx @bmxdmc @steveswope and me. It was an honor to be apart of this team, I think I’m the only one that got a Sprocket Jockey tattoo, cause these experiences we had together impacted my life forever. Travelin’ the country in a semi and not one of us a legal truck driver to killin’ it at a state fair for a turkey leg next to the pig races wit like 30 people watchin’ at times while Hoffmans spinnin’ a 8 foot no handed 540 And I learned how to host better doin’ these shows cause we used to switch off days from ridin’ and be on the microphone hostin’ as well. Like ride two days then one day host the show. I’ve done 500 SJ shows alone in just in Dallas over the years, and idk how many total over all the years, it was a grip though. Cause see we used to do a lot of the state fair shows across the USA, we was the biggest, baddest and best bmx show to be apart of at that time in my opinion, our line up was intense wit insane rippers. And there was no other halfpipe show doin’ as much as we were doin’ and I was able to quit my job after 7 years of bussin’ tables at the Olive Garden to do straight state fair shows all year round. That’s how I got dialed, ridin’ wit these legends day in day out, under pressure, I learned to perform excellent under pressure and be consistent. I still am to this day and I have taken that attitude into music, acting, tv/radio hostin’ and stand up comedy. It built my confidence even more, but I was always a lil cocky son of a gun I did SJ shows from 1989-1996 and I think we might of done a few shows in Oklahoma in 1988 as well, before we were steady straight carnies on the state fair circuit. I appreciate what you did for me @condorbmx you always looked after me and I appreciate all of our friendships Mat, Steve and Dennis ️ I learned a lot from all you badasses and had a kick ass time along the way… #boneshealchicksdigscars #rickthorne #stayrad #bmx #og #friends #legends #shredordie #bikerinblack ️STAY RAD️ @goodguysinblack @monsterenergy @monstermusic @neuroxpf @merge4socks @hoffmanbikes @fisthandwear @vannenwatches @vansbmx66 @gopro
